The boy and his magic wand
It was during those days, when i was working on my first Internship Programme at Vizag,The city of destiny.Well ,i started my work hoping that i could start making my destiny, but today,am not going to write about it here. That's not the story i wanted to say..
My Love for vizag always surprises me as its got the warmth of the sunsets where the sun daily dissolves its pain into the calm sea which splashes and dances during the reunion..Been working on the Interior Design Development course,my work demands me never to stay behind the 4 doors. My stay starts and ends in 4 complete weeks, which means they strictly do not include a dayoff.I took a small flat ,nearby to my office ,in a building not very far from the beaches. My whole schedule and life there is completely wired.Me,wired to my ear phones,to my mobile,to its charger.Me,with my curly hair (coincidence) feels a little more wired and weird ,at my first look(hahaha).I had a messy table ,where there is an entire ecology building up except for the thing u immediately want for.Me,my laptop,my phone, ipod and oven are my room mates.I can measure my life in KWh units. We get along so well that we need no other. That was my in short small infinity in this major world.
Patches under my eyes, clips and pens to hold my curls ..yeah i can juggle anything..Coffee cup which never gets empty, all for the internship dairies. It was a completely tough scheduled project, and i was determined to outperform.Days passed ,2 weeks ,ran in no time..no way i could make it to the beaches,i thought.Third weekend rushed as it going to never come back..but this Sunday,i was determined to complete my work faster and spare myself a few jolts there.Am a maverick and a gal of planning.Rushed to my flat, tossed my chart and lappy on the piled up bed,i jumped from my pumps into my addies.Got my Shades and ofcourse my phone and sketching pad..cos Nature is the best of all architects and got a chance i could foolproof her master mind.
Something very assuaging happened that evening.Near the beach,i brought myself an ice cream near a vendor, who kept me waiting for the change. As it took long..he called up a 14 year old chap, skinny and tanned with the beach curls, wide eyes,as he approached me,his wider smile glowed as if he knows me since long.Amazing faces ,i thought ,and smiled back, thinking that..i need my change ..The vendor said that ,Raghu lives nearby my flat and would return the change to me ,before the Sun rises.Does Raghu know my place?I never saw him..Oh God! i dont even know where my building owner lives..Am i a robot?I said yes and left ..i didnot even give a second thought for his eyes were magical..
That day,i went home, tired, cleansed myself ,sipped my coffee checking the pictures i have clicked. When i woke,it was late in the morning and the blitz already started.I grabbed my thrown stuff and rushed to my office.Evening on my way home,i stopped by the regular market store to purchase some tinned food to feed my oven and myself. There i happened to see Raghu. He came to me gently, and said that his father could not repay me as i was their only last customer for the day.He came to me to have an ice cream daily ,as they donot have my money to return.I was moved for their sweet deal and gave a nod.
As,we are neighbours now,he walked around me,playing with the beaded tassels of my bag.Ha,i met a fascinating friend here,i thought.Opposite to my building, stands a half ramshackled hut, where i saw his father, cleaning his ice cream boxes ready to go,sell and make his living.Raghu waved his hand to me till my tassel could corner the edge.I went to my room and thought of how much Raghu and his family works for a daily living. He goes to school in the morning and works in the evening, still gets a chance to enjoy the people around him.
It was my last week and my every 530 evenings started with the greet of Raghu, where he managed to spend time to give me an ice cream before he could leave to the beach.
It was my last day today, and i was releived
